The Butler County Legal Journal

Designated as the Official Legal Periodical for Butler County, Pennsylvania

On July 16, 1959 by Order of President Judge Cylde S. Shumaker the Butler County Legal Journal was declared the official legal publication for Butler County. 

Owned and published by the Butler County Bar Association the Journal is published every Friday and serves to inform legal professionals and the public of the filings of lawsuits, openings of estates, terminations of parental rights, mortgage foreclosures, sheriff’s sales, delinquent tax sales, formations of business entities, and more.

Subscriptions are available in both printed and digital form. Subscription year 8/1 thru 7/31 published every Friday 52 weeks per year.

The Butler County Legal Journal is published every Friday. The deadline for advertisements is the preceding Friday by noon, although holidays may alter this deadline. All notices must be prepaid.

How do I submit a notice for publication?

Email is the preferred method for submission of notices. Please email your request for publication along with your name, mailing address, and phone number to bclegaljournal@butlerbar.org. We do not accept notices by fax.

How much will my notice cost and when will it run?

Once your submission has been processed you will receive an invoice via email. Upon payment, your notice will run the next available publication date.
